About

Alberta Billiards & Snooker Association

The Alberta Billiard Sports Association is a dedicated not-for-profit organization that strives to promote and develop all cue sports in the province of Alberta, governed by a board of directors elected by its members.

Our goal is to raise the level of awareness of our sport within our own province, as well as nationally and internationally, through our affiliation with the Canadian Billiards & Snooker Association—the governing body of cue sports in Canada.

The Alberta Billiards & Snooker Association is committed to passing on the highest standards of sportsmanship and dedication to its members, and working towards providing outlets which will help those members learn and grow as players in a competitive environment.

Snooker

The Alberta Billiards & Snooker Association operates a full calendar of competitive snooker events from September through to June every year. These events are open to all Alberta residents who have registered with the Association by paying an annual membership fee of $25. Membership dues do not have to be submitted in advance of the season, however they must be collected prior to your participation in any ABSA-sanctioned ranking event on the calendar.

Once paid, your membership will remain active for all events within the season up to and including the CBSA‘s Canadian Cue Sports Championships in June.

If you elect to join while a season is already in progress, please note that your membership will expire at the conclusion of the Canadian Cue Sports Championships, regardless of when the fees were paid. Click the link at the bottom of this page for more details on how to join the Alberta Billiards & Snooker Association.

Pool

As the pool-playing community enjoys a vast and diverse collection of established leagues in and around the province, the Alberta Billiards & Snooker Association currently has limited direct involvement with respect to running leagues or a full season of tournaments.

The ABSA is primarily concerned with qualifying players for the Canadian Cue Sports Championships in the disciplines of Eight-ball, Nine-ball and Ten-ball. These events are open to all Alberta residents who have registered with the Association by paying an annual membership fee of $25. To inquire about representing Alberta in the Canadian Pool Championships, please contact albertapool@gmail.com

Carom

The Alberta Billiards & Snooker Association is not yet staging any events in this discipline. However, to inquire about representing Alberta at the next Canadian Three-Cushion Billiards Championships, please contact albertacarom@gmail.com.

      Hi AJ,

Sorry for the lack of updates, it’s been a tough couple of year, but stay tuned! I’ll get another tournament going shortly….if it doesn’t happen before May, I’ll eat my hat!
